Real bride ✨Nicole✨

Working with Nicole on her reception dress was a truly special journey. The dress was originally worn by her grandmother Jeanette in the 1950s, and Nicole wanted to update it and alter it to fit her in 2026. Working with a vintage dress requires extra special care as old fabrics become very delicate, and the work becomes almost more conservation than alteration!

We shortened the dress from maxi to knee length, recut the sleeves from long to a cute cap, and reshaped all the bodice seams to fit perfectly. I salvaged lace trim from the old skirt to finish the new hem and sleeves and finally replaced the old chunky zip for a modern concealed version.

Summer 2026 you have been epic!

From our perfect wedding day six weeks ago, to a dreamy minimoon in Wales, and then the most brilliant family trip exploring Vietnam for 3 1/2 weeks, this summer is definitely one of the best ever!

Almost decided to quit it all and set up a tailoring business in Vietnam 😜, but decided we still love Yorkshire lots and I was hankering after fish and chips and a cup of builder’s brew! 🤣

Lots of lovely new brides booked in over the next week or two and I’m so excited to get back to work and met you all!
