Hello, I’m Megan
Seamstress, dressmaker, designer, and, of course, chief tea maker.
Lover of knitting, cosy fires, and running on the moors. But nothing makes me happier than creating something magical with a needle and thread.
My passion for sewing began when I was little, learning to make hair scrunchies and dolls clothes with my mum. From there, my love for the craft grew, and I became an avid sewist, making most of my own clothes. Though I always dreamed of designing beautiful gowns, my ‘sensible’ side led me to university and a career in bioengineering research and development – a world far removed from my creative ambitions!
My journey into bridal couture began when one of my closest friends asked me to design her wedding dress after struggling to find something she loved in the usual boutiques. I designed a 1950s-inspired lace and cappuccino satin gown that captured her personality and wedding style perfectly.
Soon after, word spread, and I found myself balancing a corporate career, motherhood, and a growing demand for bespoke bridal gowns and alterations. When the opportunity for voluntary redundancy came along, I knew it was time to follow my heart and turn my passion into a full-time reality.
Over the years, I’ve honed my craft through diplomas in pattern drafting and tailoring, along with extensive training in bridal construction, alterations, corsetry, and couture dressmaking. I’ve had the privilege of designing, creating, and altering countless gowns, tackling every kind of fit and design challenge along the way.
Behind the scenes
When I’m not in my sewing studio, you’ll find me out adventuring with my partner and our three little girls – whether it’s camping, cycling, beach days (even in winter!), or walking on the moors near our Yorkshire farmhouse.
